Modi-Regierung adressiert Ladakhs offene Anliegen, sagt Kiren Rijiju

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed confidence that all the lingering issues of Ladakh could only be addressed by the Narendra Modi-led government. He urged the people to support the BJP candidate in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The current candidate, Tashi Gyalson, faces competition from the Congress candidate Tsering Namgyal and independent candidate Haji Haneefa Jan from the Kargil Democratic Alliance.

The deadlock in discussions between local representatives and the Central government has raised concerns among the locals during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Despite efforts, a resolution has not been reached, as the demands for statehood and sixth schedule of the Constitution for the Union Territory were not accepted by the Centre in March.

Rijiju emphasized that the key demands of the people can only be fulfilled by the Central government. He highlighted that winning the elections is crucial for the BJP to ensure the continued development of Ladakh. The Union Minister credited the BJP for making Ladakh a Union Territory, improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the region.

Acknowledging the unique cultural and traditional heritage of Ladakh, Rijiju stressed the importance of safeguarding the region’s future. He called for the cooperation of all stakeholders, regardless of political affiliation, to work towards a prosperous future for Ladakh. Rijiju reiterated that the BJP government is best suited to provide constitutional safeguards, protect land rights, preserve culture, and promote employment opportunities in Ladakh.
