Geheimnisse enthüllt: Damon Lindelof leitet DC’s Green Lantern-Serie

Damon Lindelof, known for co-creating the series „Lost,“ is making a return to the superhero genre. He will be part of the creative team for „Lanterns,“ an upcoming show based on characters from the Green Lantern comics. Joining Lindelof is Chris Mundy, recognized for his work on Netflix’s „Ozark.“ The announcement regarding their involvement was made by James Gunn, who serves as the co-head of DC Studios.

„Lanterns“ was unveiled last year as one of the initial ten film and TV titles within the revamped DC Universe by Gunn and Peter Safran. Described as a „huge HBO-quality event“ by Safran, it is said to be reminiscent of „True Detective.“ It is essential to note that this Green Lantern series is distinct from another project previously in the works by Greg Berlanti for Max, which has since been halted.

The upcoming series „Lanterns“ is expected to play a pivotal role in DC’s storytelling universe. Safran emphasized its significance in January 2023, highlighting how it will contribute to the overarching narrative across both film and television. Additionally, he hinted at the show’s tone, suggesting a focus on more of a terrestrial-based investigative storyline.

„Lanterns“ will center on two prominent members of the Green Lantern Corps: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Jordan, who followed in his father’s footsteps as an airforce pilot, inherited the role of Green Lantern from the dying alien Abin Sur. On the other hand, Stewart, a marine, also displayed defiance similar to Jordan’s and eventually rose to the esteemed position of Guardians of the Universe.

The collaboration between Lindelof and Mundy brings a wealth of television experience to the „Lanterns“ series. Lindelof’s impressive resume includes acclaimed shows like „Lost,“ „The Leftovers,“ and „Watchmen,“ the latter of which garnered 11 Emmys. Mundy’s background as an executive producer and writer on „True Detective: Night Country“ adds a unique perspective to the project, hinting at a promising future for the Green Lantern series.
