Srinagar: In a notable development, socio-political activist Waqar H. Bhatti, accompanied by his wife Roohi Bhatti, has officially become members of the Apni Party. The couple made their decision public during a special gathering at the party’s headquarters in Srinagar, led by the party president, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.
Roohi Bhatti, also recognized for her activism, previously held roles as a coordinator in the PDP’s Youth Wing and Tribal Cell. The Apni Party welcomed the couple with open arms, as evident in the press release issued following the event.
Addressing their inclusion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed his delight at having Waqar H. Bhatti and Roohi Bhatti join the party’s ranks. He emphasized the significance of individuals with strong political and social backgrounds aligning with the Apni Party, citing their shared commitment to advancing the region’s interests.
