44 Evictions in Settlements Since the Beginning of the Year
A special report published today reveals the number of evictions and demolitions carried out by the Civil Administration in the settlements in the past half year. According to the report, there have been no less than 44 evictions since the beginning of the year. 42 evictions occurred in the first half of the months January to June, with 2 additional evictions at the beginning of July – putting the extent of destruction in the settlements at almost two evictions per week.
The destruction includes the demolition of residential homes, uprooting of orchards, and confiscation of equipment. In some places, repeated and amended destruction has occurred, and closed military area orders have even been imposed on the land. „A policy intended to prevent the establishment of new points, leaving the land at the disposal of the Palestinians.“
