„The Life of Chuck“ gewinnt TIFF: Ein Triumph für Tom Hiddleston!

Toronto’s 49th International Film Festival (TIFF) has crowned „The Life of Chuck,“ directed by Mike Flanagan, as the winner of its prestigious audience award. Festival director Cameron Bailey made the announcement during an awards ceremony. The film, based on a short story by Stephen King, features Tom Hiddleston as Charles „Chuck“ Krantz and tells Chuck’s life story in reverse. The star-studded cast also includes Mark Hamill, Karen Gillan, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, captivating the audience throughout the event.

Taking second place was Jacques Audiard’s „Emilia Perez,“ starring Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez, while Sean Baker’s „Anora“ secured the third spot. Audience members also recognized „The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal“ as the best documentary, and the Midnight Madness award went to Coralie Fargeat’s „The Substance,“ featuring Demi Moore. Unlike other prestigious film festivals, TIFF allows the viewers to vote for their favorite films, with over 250 movies competing for attention this year.
