KPS CAPITAL PARTNERS ANNOUNCES SALE OF EVIOSYS TO SONOCO

KPS Capital Partners, LP (KPS) has announced an agreement to sell its portfolio company, Eviosys, to Sonoco Products Company for approximately 3.615 billion euros. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, subject to the necessary consultations with labor unions and obtaining the required regulatory approvals.

Eviosys is a leading global provider of metal packaging, manufacturing food cans and lids, aerosol cans, metal closures, and promotional packaging to protect the products of hundreds of consumer brands. With over 6,300 employees in 44 production facilities across 17 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Eviosys is the largest manufacturer of metal food cans in the EMEA region. The company is known for its sustainability initiatives, offering a product portfolio consisting entirely of infinitely recyclable metal packaging.

KPS established Eviosys in August 2021 by acquiring the EMEA food and consumer packaging business of Crown Holdings, Inc. The company has since been transformed into one of Europe’s largest and most profitable packaging companies under the leadership of CEO Tomás López. Through strategic improvements, profitability at Eviosys has increased by approximately 50% within three years of KPS ownership.

The sale of Eviosys to Sonoco represents a significant milestone in the company’s journey. Both KPS and Eviosys management express pride in the transformation and growth achieved during their partnership. The acquisition is expected to benefit customers, employees, and investors of both companies, with a strong industrial rationale driving the deal.
