The bakery business, „Backwerk,“ made its exit from the city, leaving commercial spaces at Teichgraben unoccupied. Despite initial expectations of a swift succession, the process lingered, resulting in the premises being empty as of early 2023.
The good news is a successor has been identified, and interestingly, they are not unfamiliar with Jena. „Leguano,“ a provider of barefoot shoes, is set to establish its presence at Teichgraben. The company already operates a branch in Jena, indicating a local connection that could benefit the community.
According to reports, „Leguano“ opted for an intra-city relocation, transitioning from the Carl-Zeiss-Platz where they previously sold their distinctive footwear to the new location at the Lichtstadt. This strategic move aims to enhance customer service and expand their market reach within Jena, as per the report from the OZ.
Furthermore, the official opening of the new store is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, offering residents and visitors a chance to explore the latest offerings from „Leguano.“ For more details on the grand opening event, interested individuals can refer to the coverage by the „Ostthüringer Zeitung.“
