Yiddish Summer Weimar in Eisenach: Internationale Musikszene zum fünften Mal vor Ort!

Yiddish Summer takes Eisenach by storm: Six Concerts in the Wandelhalle

The „Yiddish Summer Weimar“ is returning to Eisenach for the fifth time this summer. From July 18 to August 9, the Wandelhalle Eisenach will host six captivating international concerts featuring over 80 musicians from twelve countries. Today (July 1), the program in Eisenach was presented by Andreas Schmitges, the curator of Yiddish Summer Weimar, Dr. Reinhold Brunner, head of the cultural department, and Dr. Achim Heidenreich, cultural service leader.

This year’s focus is on a special project presented at the beginning of the event. The YAM Ensemble, comprised of 20 young, professional musicians from Germany, Greece, and Turkey, will kick off the summer concert series in Eisenach with an energetic performance of Yiddish, Greek, and Ottoman music.

The encounters between Eastern European-Jewish and related music from Turkey, Greece, the Balkans, and the Middle East promise fascinating evenings, great atmosphere in the Wandelhalle, and a lot of musical energy from the talented musicians from around the world.

Since 2020, the series „Yiddish Summer goes Eisenach,“ organized in collaboration with the cultural department of the Eisenach city administration, has been met with increasing interest and enthusiasm from the residents of Eisenach.

Cultural enthusiasts can purchase their concert tickets online at www.yiddishsummer.eu/eisenach or at the Tourist Information Eisenach located at Markt 24 in Eisenach.
