Rostock Makerspace Moves to the City Center

In a move aimed at bringing creativity closer to the heart of the city, the Makerspace Rostock, previously located in Warnowpark, has now found a new home in the bustling streets of the city center. Situated at Rungestraße 15, this innovative space offers children and teenagers aged 10 to 16 the opportunity to bring their ideas to life through experimentation and creativity.

Equipped with an array of tools and materials such as 3D printers, laser cutters, robots, and a stitching machine, the Makerspace is a hub of innovation and learning. Open on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2 pm to 6 pm, the space will extend its hours to 5 pm during the summer holidays, offering a range of special programs and activities.

Supported by various educational and cultural institutions, the Makerspace Rostock is an initiative of the Stadtbibliothek Rostock in collaboration with partners in youth work and media education in the city. The project is made possible by the Deutsche Telekom Foundation as part of their nationwide „Chancen bilden“ program, focusing on connecting educational stakeholders and developing STEM education opportunities for young people.
