In Berlin-Neukölln, a fire broke out on a recycling yard, engulfing around 1000 cubic meters of metal scrap during the night towards Saturday. The blaze mainly affected metal scrap and shavings, causing nearly 100 firefighters, including the Technical Relief Agency (THW), to spring into action. Briefly, dense smoke emerged due to the fire, prompting warnings to residents about potential smoke and fumes nuisance, which were dispersing towards the North-West due to rain, as per a fire department spokesperson. The origin of the fire and the extent of the damage remained unknown initially.
