Tödlicher Hochwasserunfall: Frau nach 48 Stunden tot im Keller gefunden

In Schrobenhausen, Bayern, Asuman Ö. tragically lost her life in a devastating flood. When the waters rapidly rose, she found herself trapped in a cellar in Neuburg-Schrobenhausen. Her husband contacted emergency services, reporting her missing after she was last seen in the flooded cellar. A neighbor recalled being warned by firefighters not to enter basements or garages due to the escalating situation.

Witnesses described an intense rush of water engulfing the area, leading to Asuman Ö. being trapped in the basement. Efforts to rescue her were hindered by the flooded conditions, preventing divers from reaching the cellar on the first attempt. The following day, the Technical Relief Agency arrived to pump the water out of the basement, ultimately revealing the lifeless body of the 43-year-old woman.

Tragically, Asuman Ö.’s death marks the second known fatality in the catastrophic flooding affecting Bayern and Baden-Württemberg. Another victim, a firefighter, lost his life in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm during a rescue operation gone wrong. The community mourns these losses as they come to terms with the devastating impact of the natural disaster.
