Voltigieren: Alea Kargemann triumphs again
At the recent Voltigier-Landesmeisterschaften held by the Pferdesportverbandes Hannover in Lamspringe, the focus was on the impressive performance of Alea Kargemann. She managed to defend her title despite facing challenges that would have deterred others.
A standout aspect of Alea’s victory was her ability to adapt quickly to unexpected circumstances. When her usual vaulting horse, Sissy, fell ill shortly before the competition, Annkathrin Markert from RV Sudwalde stepped in with her horse Carel. Despite the last-minute change, Alea Kargemann was able to showcase her skills and clinch the victory with an impressive score of 6.606 points. In her own words, „I was very nervous before the start. I was delighted that everything went well in both the compulsory and freestyle routines. When I was called to the podium for first place, I was incredibly happy. I hugged my lunger. I thank her for accommodating us so spontaneously and making this competition possible.“
Another rising star from the Kreis Verden area, Alexa Kuentzel, also put on a stellar performance. Transitioning from competing in the Children category to the Nachwuchstrophy, she demonstrated her talent by securing a silver medal with a score of 7.904 points. With Annkathrin Markert as her lunger, the 15-year-old showcased her skill and potential for future competitions.
Aside from the individual successes of Alea Kargemann and Alexa Kuentzel, their achievements also reflect the depth of talent emerging in the sport of vaulting. As the nominees for the upcoming Youth German Championships are announced, the spotlight remains on the promising young vaulters who continue to push the boundaries of the sport.
